PUBG Adds Respawns In New War Mode On PC

PUBG Adds Respawns In New War Mode On PC

War never changes. Unless the host changes the game's settings.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has very quietly added a new mode called War on PC. The new mode--which is essentially Team Deathmatch--adds respawns, a mechanic not seen in PUBG's standard battle royale mode.
Players are condensed into a small, static area on Erangel, meaning lives don't last long. The selection of weapons and gear depends on the settings picked by the game's host, so you could spawn with any number of items. War mode is available now but only as a custom game, meaning only PUBG Partners can start and host matches--though anyone can join an already-created session.
The mode was not announced by developer PUBG Corp. or publisher Bluehole, with no mention of it anywhere on social media or on the game's forums. It's therefore unclear how long War will be available for. It could be a timed mode, similar to the game's other new way of playing, Tequila Sunrise, which went live just recently and features close quarters, shotgun-based combat.
In other PUBG news, a new patch has just been released for the game, bringing with it bug fixes and the new Killer Spectate mode that allows you to watch the player who killed you during the rest of the match. If your killer dies too, you'll be able to continue watching the player who killed them. Meanwhile, PUBG's upcoming map, currently in the testing phase, now supports players who want to play as Squads on Codename: Savage. This is limited to PUBG's experimental test server. You still need a beta key to access the map, and you can sign up to receive one the PUBG website.

PUBG Update Out Now On PC, Here Are The Patch Notes

A new killer spectator mode is on the way to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

A new patch is on the way to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. This marks the ninth major update the game has received since it left Early Access on PC last December, and it introduces a new spectator mode and a few bug fixes. [Update: The new patch is out now, while the first Experimental Test Server run of the Codename: Savage map has concluded.]
The biggest addition to the game is a new Killer Spectate mode. Following the update, you will be able to watch the player who killed you during a match by clicking on the button from the result screen. If your killer ends up dying, you'll be able to continue spectating the player who killed them.
Additionally, you can spectate the player who was nearest to your death location if you die by the Blue or Red Zones or from fall damage. You will also have the ability to report the player you are watching in Killer Spectate mode by pressing R. However, you won't be able to use Killer Spectate if you're watching the Death Cam.
Beyond that, the new update addresses a small handful of bugs. Namely, it fixes an issue that would cause your vehicle to suddenly flip over or return to its starting point while driving, as well as one that prevented the username of your killer from appearing in Death Cam. You can find the full patch notes on Steam.
The update is scheduled to arrive to the game tonight, April 4, following a round of maintenance. Developer PUBG Corp. is taking servers offline for three hours beginning at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET to move its current test build to the live game. A smaller map, Codename: Savage, is also currently in testing; you can see it in action in the video above.

Fortnite: Battle Royale Review - Laying The Foundation

Fortnite: Battle Royale Review - Laying The Foundation For a game that was long in development as a cooperative horde-based shooter, the conspicuous and relatively quick addition of battle royale to Fortnite seemed to be a move to capitalize on a trend. However, its seemingly simple building system and loose shooting mechanics not only set it apart from other games built on the same premise, but work extremely well to make a uniquely chaotic and surprisingly deep deathmatch experience. Everything about Fortnite's presentation emits a lighthearted tone. You start a match by jumping out of a party bus held up by balloons that flies across the game's massive map. Weapons, ammo, and health items litter its silly-named cities, all using alliteration--Tomato Town, Moisty Mire, Tilted Towers, to name a few. Even enemies don't really die; they're teleported away after getting knocked out. Valuable loot is found inside pinatas called supply llamas, for crying out loud. P...
